Many people may think that Work place injuries are just like any other injury, just at work.
This is where many people would be wrong. While some injuries are just 'normal injuries', I find that most are not.
Depending on your job, there may be equipment involved. There may be a lot of lifting, repetitive tasks, stress...
All of these things must be considered with any work place injury
The first goal, is getting you back to work, safely
Once we get you back to work, safely, so there is minimal risk to re injury- we then work on restoring your mobility, strength, all while eliminating your pain.
Work place injuries can be frustrating to deal with. On top of the actual injury, there is often a mountain of paperwork, forms, phone calls...
It can all be very confusing, and frustrating. You need to focus on healing and recovering, you don't have a time to deal with all the B.S.!
This is where we come in!
Filling out forms can be frustrating, and difficult. We make it easy!
You don't have to be frustrated by paperwork, anymore!
Our first job is to get you better!
Our second job, is to update WCB on your progress. You don't have to worry about chasing your claim manager down. We do that.
And we only hire the fastest administrators, they can chase and catch anyone!
WCB is responsible for paying for treatment of an injury that is related to a work place injury.
So you don't have to worry about finances getting in the way of you getting better.
We walk you through everything that you need to do, holding your hand the whole way through. Figuratively of course - I mean we can literally hold your hand too if that works better for you.
If you've had a work place injury, WCB will pay for your healthcare related costs to recover. HOWEVER, they only pay for ONE provider at a time.
This means you must choose who. Chiropractic, physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, and so on.
You can use all of these therapies, however, WCB will only pay for one at a time!
Don't ask me why. I don't make the rules.
Yes I don't think it's the greatest policy either, but that's just the way it is! (Take it up with WCB) So here are a a few questions you should ask yourself when choosing who to work with.
Many therapies are very helpful! Unfortunately, many of the people doing thees therapies are not trained to develop a diagnosis.
If you don't know the diagnosis, you will not know what the best therapies are to fix the issue. So while these various therapies MIGHT be helpful, its useful first to know whaat the actual problem (diagnosis) is.
Many therapists are very good at providing specific therapies.
The problem is, with work place injuries you will often need multiple therapies to make a complete recovery! You need someone who issues able to perform more than one single therapy. Soft tissue therapy, mobilization, manipulation, acupuncture, Shockwave, therapeutic stretches and exercises and more.
Not all health care providers work with WCB. Why? To be blunt, they are a bit of a pain in the rear!
All the paperwork, reduced pay, etc.
That means that they cannot direct bill WCB for treatment of your injuries. Having aa provider that is registered with WCB simply makes the payment process easier for you.
Dispite all the problems with WCB, we are
By now you know that getting your work place injuries is important. I've seen far too many people blow off getting their injuries treated correctly.
What typically happens is the injury does not correctly heal. This can lead to persistent pain, chronic pain, and a life time of problems. Don't let that happen to you!
If you've been injured at work, you need to tell your supervisor or boss. Then you need to get it treated appropriately, so it does not become a chronic problem.
Don't let an injury impact your body, your life, and your livelihood for years to come.
We treat a wide range of workplace injuries, including back and neck pain, repetitive strain injuries (like carpal tunnel syndrome), joint pain, shoulder injuries, and muscle strains.
Whether your injury occurred from heavy lifting, repetitive motions, or poor ergonomics, we can help get you back into working shape!
Easy, on two fronts.
First, we deal with WCB, the paperwork, and the case manager.
Second, clinically, we diagnose the injury and devise the best course of action to get you back to work, and better than ever.
Oh to tell the future, wouldn't that be a treat?! Unfortunately, we lost our crystal ball.
Proper treatment can help make it less likely to get another injury (But no promises!). I often have patients who are severely hurt get better. And they stay fine for years. We provide you (and other patients) with the exercises, stretches, and strategies to prevent the pain returning.
Yes, we work with workers' compensation cases and develop personalized treatment plans that align with your coverage. Our goal is to help you recover as quickly as possible while ensuring all necessary documentation is provided for your claim.

This depends on the nature of your injury and your job duties. In some cases, modified work duties may be recommended. We’ll work with you and your employer to create a plan that supports your recovery while minimizing disruption to your work.
During your first visit, we’ll conduct a thorough assessment of your injury, discuss your symptoms, and review your medical history. From there, we’ll recommend a treatment plan that go over what that may look like for you.
